Who am I? #
I’ve always been drawn to IT. Throughout my schooling, I took every opportunity to develop my skills in technology, and this passion continued into my apprenticeship, where I trained specifically in IT. My first role was as a technical help desk apprentice, a position that taught me invaluable lessons not only in troubleshooting and problem-solving but also in how to communicate respectfully and effectively with clients. Those early experiences shaped how I approach my work today.
After my apprenticeship, I joined IBS Schools in Worcestershire as a Schools Peripatetic IT Technician. I was fortunate to grow within the education sector, eventually becoming an On-Demand/3rd line Technician. Later, I moved to Kent to take on the role of Information Technology Consultant with Primary Technologies (S.E.) LTD. I then returned to Birmingham as a Technical Pre-sales Consultant for Entrust Support Services, before stepping into my current role as Head of IT Services for a Multi Academy Trust.
Alongside my professional career, I felt a growing desire to use my experience to make a broader impact. I started my own IT consultancy and installations business with a clear mission, to help people stay safe, protect their businesses, and ultimately make the world a safer place through technology. I am aiming my services at individuals, small businesses, and charities. I specialise in securing home networks, setting up work from home requirements, implementing safeguarding systems for children, helping businesses operate effective and secure networks, and installing CCTV systems.
What sets my consultancy apart is a security first mindset combined with a commitment to ensuring technology serves the client, not the other way around. I focus on solutions that work for the user’s unique needs at an affordable price point. When I work with clients, I make sure the systems truly fit their requirements while safeguarding their safety and security.
Running my own business has taught me the incredible variety of challenges that come with different clients and environments. Each issue demands a unique solution, keeping my work both challenging and rewarding. Looking forward, my goal remains clear, to assist as many people as possible in having systems that work for them, offering peace of mind and usability.
